Hey everybody! Gia here! Today is officially the first day of summer for the Clique- Summer School that is! Our subscribers and anyone else who was lucky enough to pre-order one of our now sold out Clique Into Summer class kits should have received their syllabus as well as as their email notification that Lesson 1 is posted on our Summer School page. We did note a slight change to the schedule given we had to ship the kits a few days later than anticipated- we flip flopped events we had planned for this week with those planned for next week. No matter- we couldn't be more excited to get this party started with some watercolor fun!
Plunge into Watercolors covers a lot of territory about fun ways to incorporate watercolor and watercolor effects in your scrapbooking and paper crafting. Some of the techniques covered in the videos include doing basic wet on wet color washes, crayon resists, abstract background techniques with straws and paint splatters and more. I hope that if you are in the class you have had a chance to check them out. If not, no pressure- they will be available all summer long and you can even download them to watch at your leisure. So kick back, grab some lemonade or sweet tea and enjoy!
This is a one minute photo-video showing a little bit of my process:
Here is another look at the finished layout! I didn't want to start doing 6 x 9 Snap album pages until we had our cover page and first page kickoff event next week. Our kits are on the way as we speak and while we all anxiously await them I used some printables, some exclusive flair, and this and that from my stash and my own watercolor artwork.
Here is a little card using a simple multicolored wash background. The flamingo was fussy cut from one of the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine 3 x 4 card cut a parts. The watercolor wash is matted with another Good Day Sunshine card.
Just because we are rolling out 12 whole weeks of summer school doesn't mean we have forgotten about all of the other awesomeness we have planned for the Clique. We will still be posting Show & Tell projects on the blog and will have our monthly Pep Rally in a couple of weeks. Show & Tell is available in low quantities as a single kit purchase this month while supplies last. We are thrilled our guest designer this month will be here to inspire you, and we are introducing a new blog feature this month: Substitute Teacher posts (Guest Bloggers) who will be writing a series of posts on s topic of their choice! More on that soon! Subscribe now to be a part of all this and more! Did we mention than subscribers are automatically enrolled in the summer workshop for free, and that subscribers may sign up to participate in blog shares to earn product credits?
