Happy Sunday! Sometimes, weekends for me are full of more time-consuming projects with intricate hand-stitching and lots of details and sometimes, weekends are for lots of family activities and tiny pockets of time where I can get in a little creating. This weekend, is one full of baseball tournaments and spring break fun so I wanted a quick and easy project. This month's kit has such gorgeous colors, patterns, and phrases that you can easily create a big impact with a little time investment. I am working in my daughter's traveler's notebook insert today and decided to cut apart the vellum phrases specialty paper from the kit and then create a bright, busy, fun grid surrounding a 3x4 photo of my daughter.
In her traveler's notebook inserts, each spread is a letter that I write to my daughter. In this case, I found this 3x4 pocket card from the Pick Me Up collection that I decided to use and turn directly into a letter. I just grabbed that card, and added a heading and signed my name at the bottom and it portrayed the same feelings that I would have written in her letter but in a little different format and I just love the results.
Using all of those vellum phrases, I didn't need a lot of embellishment because the page was pretty busy already (but in a good way, I think!). I added just a few tiny puffy stickers clustered around my letter and my photo and that was it. A tiny pocket of time in a busy weekend that resulted in a little bit of creative time for this busy mama. Do you have any timesaving tips for creating when you only have tiny pockets of time? Leave them in the comments below and we can try to inspire each other to create even when life is busy busy.
