Sometimes, when I break into a brand new kit, I feel like that I have to go slow. Savor every new supply and let's be honest...there is a little bit of a hoarder inside me who just wants to save those beautiful things for the perfect photo, perfect project, perfect day. Do you ever do that? So...today, I decided to break into this gorgeous Paige Evans inspired kit slowly. I grabbed my traveler's notebook and the stamp set from KaiserCraft and decided to create a repeated stamp phrase on the left side of the page. This was super simple using my Stamp Platform and some Altenew ink. I love the look that I have been seeing lately with all black ink except for one of the phrases which I made stand out with a bright pop of teal to match the kit.
I decided to keep the embellishing pretty simple this time. I used a few of the cork hearts from the traveler's notebook kit as well as the Paige Evans mini puffy sticker flowers and I love how they complement each other. Adding a few strips of the washi tape and a doily behind my photo gave it the emphasis that I was looking for and didn't force me to cut into those gorgeous 12x12 papers just yet. In the Clique Kits shop, I had picked up some adorable acrylic phrases from Love + Lemon and the word "lovely" just stood out as a perfect complement to this photo of my daughter at her first middle school play performance.
I added my journaling which is just a short little letter to my daughter. This is the set up of each of the inserts that I create for my children and they are loving reading these little thoughts and ramblings from me. And that basically did it! A pretty quick and simple traveler's notebook spread that allowed me to ease into my new kit without feeling the panic of running out of my beautiful goodies before the perfect project comes along!
