Today is Halloween and I am sharing my October workshop project with you! If you and your family celebrate this holiday, I hope you are out trick or treating and having a blast. Be safe! Some people of course cannot celebrate due to religious beliefs or other reasons, and we respect all of our friends and followers-so if it is just another day for you you might still feel inspired by the parts of this project that focus on fall activities (just ignore my devil horns in photo 6- haha)
I had a lot of fun creating my October bucket list and I hope the workshop was fun for everyone who participated! Clique Kits online workshops remain accessible for 1 year after purchase. Hello Friends! Maryám here with you to share a fall themed layout using our exclusives cut files for this month that are designed by our Creative Director Gia Lau.
For today's layout I used a photo I took last fall and I put a bunch of leaves trying to create a diagonal design.
For the big leaves, I cut them with my Silhouette Cameo and then I painted them with watercolors. At the end, I added more leaves and a flower cluster. As a final touch, I cut some triangles and I put them on the top and on the bottom corner.
Here is the final layout:
Here are some close-ups:
I hope you liked this layout. Thanks for stopping by today.
Have a wonderdul day!
Hello! It's Donna here with another post using the November kit "Cornucopia".
I've been quite busy the past weeks prepping for my daughter's 3rd birthday celebration so I opted to create something simple yet pretty for today's post.
I made a couple of tags, which can be used as gift tags or an embellishment to another Fall-themed or Thanksgiving-themed project.
I traced an old tag I have in my stash and used that as basis my tags. To add a bit of flare, I used a decorative border punch and cut the top and bottom edges of the journaling cards. I also ink the edges with a dark brown ink.
Of course, I have to use this beautiful paper again. It's really fussy cut heaven!
A black ribbon completed the tag!
That's all from me today! I hope you liked it!
Hey Everybody! Gia here! Today I am sharing a 12 x 12 layout I made with both of the November kits: Cornucopia. This month's kits surprised me because I thought I knew what they contained but when I opened the package and actually saw all of the components together for both the main and travelers notebook kits it blew my mind how much I loved them.
I have had a layout on my scrapbooking Pinterest board by one of my current favorite designers...Steffi Reid from Germany who blogs at Scrap Sweet Scrap-- and I finally had the right photo and right papers to do justice to scraplifting her beautiful layout. After showing you my layout, I will also share Steffi's layout and you can read more about hers here.
Here is my version of the layout. I adapted it to a 12 x 12 format even though the original was an 8 1/2 x 11. I loved the idea of the papers radiating out from a central round embellishment and the one in the November Main kit was exactly what I needed!
Here is a closeup and you can see how the papers and embellishments from both the main and TN kits- even though from completely different collections and manufacturers work perfectly together! I also adore the exclusive flair that were included in the main kit.
I had some sequins from the April release on hand and found that the colors worked perfectly with these kits also. If you have these or love sequins like I do, you can still pick these up in the CK shop to use with your November kit! Now here is the original layout I lifted for comparison:
Isn't her layout gorgeous? Remember there is absolutely no shame in lifting someone's layout design if it inspires you because no two people have the same exact photos or memories, so it is bound to come out all your own. Thanks for stopping by today!
Aloha!! Happy FriYAY!! It's Hannah with you this fine day. Today I am using the November Cornucopia Traveler's Notebook Kit. I am using it in an unexpected way too.
I don't know if you are like me at all, but December Scrapbooking is on my mind already. I am thinking of all the products I want to use and the system I want to use to document my December Days. There is so much to think about and prepare especially if you want the project to be successful.
I wanted to share a few simple tips before the busy holiday season is upon us so you too can be successful and you can create a precious keepsake for your family to enjoy for years to come.
My first biggest and most important tip I have is to have a journal handy throughout the whole month. I am not sure if I can state how crucial this tip is. Many of us have many more tasks, plans and things that place in December. I wish I could say you will remember every little detail, but you probably won't. By keeping a journal handy and nearby, you can jot down the moments and memories you want to remember. Then later when you are working on your album you will have those moments already documented and at your finger tips. It will help cut down the time you need to actually get your album completed.
I am going to use a TN this year. This insert that I am using is the TN that came with the Autumn cover from the Store. Besides being gorgeous and so soft. The cover comes with two inserts. One insert is a calendar and the other insert is a simple grid design. This makes it perfect for just journaling. I will be stamping the date with my roller date stamp on each page and using one to two pages to just brain dump the things from that day that I want to remember later.
When I go to make my album I can then decide what stories I want to add to the album and which ones aren't that important. Either way it's documented, because I will add this insert with the album. That way if my family wants to read all the details they can.
I have started using this system for my Project Life and it has been a life saver.
For the cover I added a fun stamp from Melo Milo that has tons of holiday themed images. I used a simple black dye ink from One Canoe Two, which is my favorite black ink for stamping right now. I mixed the stamp with the block tile alphas from the TN kit.
In Photoshop I resized one of the 3x4 exclusive printable journalling cards. This is one of my favorite parts to getting these exclusive printable pieces, is that they come in PNG format. They can easily be modified to fit the project I am doing. Resizing in photo shop is so simple. I even added font to the image for my title page. Then it is all ready be to saved and printed right at home on thicker cover stock.
My next tip is to change things up, add non christmas or holiday themed pieces to your December projects. This will help when you are in the middle of the season and slowly getting bored of all the holiday themed papers and pieces. It will add a bit of breathing room on your projects. When you are done with your album you can easily add those items back into your stash.
Using non traditional and holiday themed products can help you use up some things form your stash in your album and maybe even help you not over buy things you might not use. You can spend your money on the special holiday themed items you really want.
Tip number three... Prep as much as you can ahead of time. Make a homemade kit or buy a kit premade. Pick the album type and start getting all the pages you need ready before December comes. I actually suggest doing it at the beginning of November before all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season even starts. That way you have time to buy more products if you need too. This also gets you in the mood to take on a big project like documenting the month of December. Being prepared ahead of time will allow you to spend less time putting the album together at the end. Especially if you are trying to do it in December.
This is my cover page. I wanted to journal to myself a bit, and what better than to use a gold gel pen. So fun and festive.
I repeated the stamping as the cover on a white doily. I also stamped some acorns on the doily from another stamp set I have in my stash.
By layering journalling cards, tags, doilies, glassine bags and a paper strip, I have created a focal point. I wanted to have a place where I had a lot of texture going on to balance the busy and strong colors of the opposite side. I kept the layers pretty simple with lots of white space.
I love how this journaling card from Pretty Little Studio Tales and Dreams is peaking out from the glassine bag. I love these colors too. They aren't your traditional colors of December but they are loud and a break from all the holiday inspired colors. I think this will be perfect for me to want to grab this TN to record and jot down memories at the end of the day.
I also fussy cut a flower from the patterned paper in the TN kit. I added it on the tag with a label and a 2x2 square from the Tales and Dreams Collection that is in the kit. Because the tag is tucked in the bag it really helps keep the patterns muted.
The last tip I want to leave with you today is to also remember you don't have to document each day either, you are in charge of what and how you do a project like this. You do it how it makes you happy. There are so may examples of how you can document December and your holiday season. Have fun with it, enjoy the process.
I added some simple embellishments and stickers to some of my pages. This will help break up the journaling and make this TN a little bit more than just plain. Though that would definitely fine, I know I get more inspired to write when I have some thing cute on the pages.
The exclusive November TN printables are a fun touch. By adding a sticker to the printable, it makes the embellishment more complex without adding to many layers. I really want to try not to add to much bulk to this TN journal since it is going to go with my December album.
Also don't forget to check out the Store for any Holiday inspired items and add ons. There are exclusive printables and really festive holiday themed Traveler's Notebook's too.
See you around next week, my scraps friends!!
Hi Friends! Maryám here today to share a photo tutorial of a layout I made using the beautiful November 2017 Kit.
Here is the step by step photo-tutorial:
1. Fussy cut flowers and leaves from the papers included in the kit.
2. Choose where you want to put the flowers and start to embellish the page.
3. Create your title. You can mix and match both of the thickers that we included in this month's kit.
4. Write your journaling, add some enamel hearts and some splatters. Then, cut 1/4" all the way to the page and add a paper behind of it. In that way, we are going to get a really nice border on the page.
And That's it! The page is finished. Here is how it looks:
I hope you liked my layout. Let me know if you have any questions.
Have a wonderful day!
Hope you are having a spook filled week as we lead up to Halloween! The FMBallet just closed our first production of the season, Spooky Ballets. This performance was filled with spooky inspired dance pieces like thriller and witches and the show closed with Dracula (the ballet). Why am I telling you this? Because Clique Kits has some fantastic Halloween products that will work perfectly with your costume pictures this season!
Today I want to highlight a few of these great products!
First, I want to highlight this October Workshop "Halloween Bucket List".
Clique Kits Owner, Gia did a fantastic job on this kit. Not only with the product content, but LOOK at those digital designs! She created not ONE file but TWO files of designs. The middle image above is digital prints! Are they not fabulous?!? And love the brush letter words and numbers. All those words give me the best fall feeling!
Get this Bucket List kit for yourself in our shop for $15!!!
Do you want a little touch of spook to your next card project, layout or travelers notebook? These adorable Pretty Little Studios die cuts are perfect! Not only are they affordable, but they are a great size for your project.
Add a little texture to your project with these Fancy Pants Designs: Corrugated papers! A great way to add a little depth and dimension to your background with little to not work. Add splatters with sprays or paints to give it even more life!
Now if you are not into Halloween, we have plenty of super great products to celebrate Fall! I just adore these products. How adorable are those foxes?!?
Thanks for joining me today! I hope you love these products as much as I do! They really inspire me and put me in a fall cozy feeling! Have a great day!
Happy Monday! Do you guys ever have a scrappy project that you know you want to finish and you love it but it just sits there on the shelf and gets neglected? Well, I do! It just happens to be my 2016 December Daily. It was my first year playing along with December Daily for this very reason. I always start a project like this really strong and then as the month goes on, I start to lose momentum. Raise your hands, girls, anyone else?!?
So....when I got my Clique Kits Holiday kit...I was super excited because there are so many great pieces in there and I just knew that it was time to dust off this album and keep plugging away. As I am thinking about December Daily this year (of course, I am doing it again because you know I would never slack off this time!) I know that I really want to try to finish last year's because I truly love everything I have done so far. So today...I grabbed my kit and my photos and finally got to work!
My album is a 6x8 size and the page for day 14 has this design with 2-4x6 pockets and 4-3x4 pockets. I started with my three photos and I knew that i had a long story to tell so I needed more space. I flipped thru my kit goodies and these Hey Santa and Very Merry cards just spoke to me. My album colors are mainly black, red, and gold so that might be why I picked these right away. I decided that that "Very Merry" card was just calling out for some hand stitching...
My biggest tip with hand-stitching on layouts is to make sure to pre-punch your holes. This prevents a lot of ripping of the paper and saves a bunch of time. I would say that the sticking on this card took me about 20 minutes or so to finish.
Then, it was just a matter of adding a few embellishments...a doily here, some star sequins there, and I attached most of my ephemera with my tiny attacher which is a common thread throughout my entire December Daily album. Then...it was time to tell the story but I had used up all of my pockets. No problem at all! This adorable Santa card from the kit was perfect for journaling in a fun way. I just punched a couple of holes and it sits as an insert in the middle of my page. I have several of these throughout my DD album and I just love the interactive look!
I'm still plugging away over here...hoping to have 2016 done before 2017 starts! Are you still working on your December Daily? Do you always finish it in December? Maybe you have never tried it before and this is your year?! Good luck to you and enjoy this kit...there are loads of great little additions in there!
Hello Clique fans! Here is Réka and today I am sharing my first layout created with the November Main Kit. This Kit is AMAZING!
One of my favorite material is the vellum and the gold is my other favorite. So the Pretty Little Studios: Leaves Vellum is two in one, and it is stunning! I love it. I also love the beautiful patterned papers from this kit and the Crate Paper (Maggie Holmes) Carousel – Prize paper is also so pretty. See them on the following photo.
I have decided to fussy cut them.
I have created lots of flowers from the Prize paper. I have chosen two pieces from the fussy cutting images and adhered them together with foam tape to add dimension for it. I have also added enamel on it. I really love the result. I have put them on my layout.
Between the flowers, I scattered the fussy cutting leaves.
The cute yellow bow is also went on my layout.
I have also added some cardstock shapes from Pebbles: Girl Squad - Ephemera Pack.
The last step was to add some green mists and embroidered around the page with light yellow thread.
Here is one last look at my finished layout.
I hope you liked my layout and thanks for stopping by today! Have a wonderful crafty day! See you next month! Réka
Aloha!! It's Hannah with you today!! I hope you all have wonderful plans this weekend. Today I am going to be using the November Cornucopia Traveler's Notebook Kit. This kit is so cheerful, these supplies really help lift my spirits.
We have been back to school and getting into our school time routine for a little over a month now. I won't lie, I am really missing the summer and my extra free time. This time of the year though, just has something that draws me in. Preparing for the winter, getting back into a daily routine, new seasons of tv shows to watch and lots of reading and writing, are going on in my house.
I really love the idea of documenting this big change this time of the year. I think every year I expect something a bit different, and to have that in some journaling is really nice. At the end of the year it really helps you see how far you have come. But back to school layouts and spreads really have a bad rap. Whether it's sleepy cranky faces, whether it's the change in the lighting , the lack of enthusiasm about the upcoming times, it sometimes is hard to capture this season change in a good light.
I think for me some of it is that the info can be generic. You want to make sure you have facts on the layout.
Hopefully today I can give you some small easy tips to make documenting your back to school and season changing that help you share your families stories.
My first tip is to make your layout fun, whether you have little kiddos at home or some not so little kids. use a fun design to document your daily routines. Today I am going to scrap lift myself. I made this above layout 2 years ago for a back to school challenge. I love how there are elements that point to autumn but that I used my favorite technique, layering. This design is so much fun. Scrap lifting myself means I don't have to come up with a design but can focus on other elements on my layout.
I did lots of fussy cutting for this layout, but it meant I didn't have to raid the main kit for too many die cuts, just a few that helped tell my stories.
My next tip is, Use your paper as embellishments. There are so many papers now days that have flowers (In fact our kits both have lots of florals and cut worthy pattern papers), or other elements to cut out. Use these pieces as embellishments to layer on your page. Whether you like a clean and simple layout or a busy layout, you can cut a lot of just a little. This is so helpful when you have really bold patterns too.
I used the little 2x2 squares to draw leaves and cut them out. I also fussy cut the flowers in the patterned paper in the TN kit. I got so much from just a little paper.
My next tip is to use those word die cuts as part of your title. If you are anything like me, I struggle coming up with awesome titles. Thankfully these die cut words can help me with that. It also helps draw interest to the title when you vary the size font and font look.
In this layout I even used one of the journaling cards with beautiful hand script words as my title. Now my title isn't quite the same as two years ago back, you know it is a back to school layout.
My next tip is not be afraid to use all your themed pieces together on the layout. But don't let this stop you if you don't have themed die cuts. A couple of themed pieces go a long way mixed in with what might feel like a lot of non themed pieces.
I know I tend to stay away from the traditional items but I don't want a really themed layout, but you know it's ok to have that kind of spread every once in a while. But by mixing themed pieces with items that don't say Back To School it really helps to balance the theme.
Remember to mix up colors, shapes, sizes and textures. This will help draw interest to you layout.
I had fun layering all the beautiful colors of this kit. The Main Kit's die cuts were perfect for cutting that brightness too. I also love this October CK exclusive Flair badge. It works so well.
My last tip is to change up your journaling. This layout I decided to write it like I was talking to my kids. They may not fully understand it all now, but later years down the road, they will be able to hear my voice as they read my words to them.
Another suggestion is to add your kids favorites, and see how they change from the beginning to the end of the school year. You could even have you r kids write their own journaling, changing the tone by them telling things about this time and how they feel about it. As a mom, we can only tell part of the story, so adding your child's voice it really can change the way they remember that day, that year.
Here is a finished look at my layout. I liked using my Traveler's notebook Kit for something other than my Traveler's Notebook. I love how this cheerful kit, helped my back to school layout be fun and helped captured my kids personalities. They are so playful, goofy and they really were enjoying this photo time, even if they laughed during most of the photo shoot.
I hope I encourage you to document these special moments in a different way. Also don't forget to share with us all the layouts and projects you make with your Clique Kits!! Use the hashtag #click_connect_create and #cliquekits on social media and we will be able to see it!!
