This week I'm heading the Clique Into Summer Lesson. We are working on loving our own handwriting. So today I'm going to share a few journal cards / tags I created using my own handwriting and some quotes. So lets get started!
I included the following kit of papers in the Summer School kit. Some white cardstock, a lined journal card and a manilla tag.
The first step I did was write my quotes out in pencil. This step could be done after you color the cards as well. I decided to do it before hand, for two of my cards and after for the tag.
Prior to writing on the cards, I actually practiced these quotes in my sketch book. It is a good idea to practice what you are writing before diving in, so you waste less "good" paper and have a plan to how you want to lay the text out on the card.
Tip: Emphasis the important words in a different font style, color, weight or size.
For the card below, I actually painted on the card first, prior to writing the quote. So, like I said above, you can go in either order. The next step after you have written the quote is to go over the pencil with a marker, paint, crayon, colored pencil, etc. Or leave with the pencil look.
Note: If you use a marker (writing utensil) that is water based, be careful when painting over it with water based products, like water colors and Distress stains, etc. These will cause the ink to run.
Now, here is a breakdown for how I colored each card.
Creating your own quoted journal cards is a great way to personalize your scrapbook pages and projects! It adds an extra special touch that your family will enjoy to see and cherish! I hope this inspired you to head to your crafty space and create your own personal journal quoted cards! What background Ideas do you have? Do you like writing with a certain writing utensil? Share you projects with us on our Facebook page or our Flickr Group!
Have a scrap happy day!
