Hey everybody! It's Gia and I am so excited to start Kickoff Week! If you are a Clique Kits subscriber or Summer School student, make sure you check out the Clique Into Summer Kit Tour Video now live on the Summer School Page. You will also find the events for the week are posted with chances for you to win a prize just for playing along!
On my first layout, I was inspired to use some DYMO label tapes to journal on the individual elements going in to my pockets. Unless you are a thrift store and flea market junkie like I am, you may not have one of these nifty gadgets in your tool box. (If that is the case don't worry, I sent some samples to all of my friends.)
I also made a flip up pocket which contains a die cut card from the Simple Stories Good Day Sunshine collection with those cut out hearts as a little peek-a- boo element showing my feet in the sand.
When I have a lot of white space in the composition of one of my photos, I find its the perfect place to put some journaling right on or over my photo.
I had some chipboard shapes and speech bubbles in my stash (American Crafts/Amy Tangerine) and I used some chalkboard paint to convert them to little chalkboard embellishments which I doodled on with a chalkboard marker.
Last but not least I wanted to show you another little interactive element on my page using one of the little yellow tags in the kit. Here is the front side:
On this side the lower half of the tag is inserted so that it rests over the card but behind the plastic of the page protector. I prepared it first by embellishing it with some washi tape and a little snippet from a printable. You can't see it in this view, but it is sticking outside the pocket on the other side. (See below.) I ran the seam through my sewing machine to secure it in place. And now, for the flip side of the page:
Stay tuned right here for more to come from the rest of the Clique Kits gals!
