Oh happy, happy Friday everyone! Jody here today for a really fast layout. Seriously, almost Jimmy Johns fast today my friends, LOL. I'm absolutely lovin' all the great journaling cards & fun frames in this month's Clique Kit, Show & Tell. The bright colors and patterns are really inspiring me to show off lots of the recent photos I've taken. So, my first layout of the month is in honor of our Hannah turning 6. She's such a fabulous little girl, I love her so! The bright pink Simple Stories DIY paper, CK Paper Clips, Pink Fresh Studio stickers are combined with some fabulous Summer Simple Stories Snap journaling cards (CK Shop) for a fast and very fun layout!
You can see below that I used my go to foam adhesive from 3L Scrapbook Adhesives to give my page elements some dimension. I also punched a heart in the bottom right of the Simple Stories Snap card so you could see through to the fun pattern behind it. I'll use that punched out heart on another project for this awesome kit.
I also just adore the paper clip flags which were handmade by our own Lacey Gasper! These are so fun and come in a variety of colors and patterns in your June kit.
I mixed and matched a few of the kit embellishments together to create a fun title for my layout. I used a Simple Stories DIY Boutique Insta Frame, Clear Photo Stickers, Card Foundations and the Sticker Words. You can easily mix and match these up for hundreds of awesome title combination or subtitles for your projects. Don't forget about creating cards with them as well. Those summer birthdays tend to sneak up us, so why not whip up a few cards and have them ready to go!
Another fun embellishment in your June kit is the black and white bakers twine. If you struggle to use the twine, there's a fun and easy way to use it on your layouts and cards. Don't worry about having every last inch of the twine glued down to you page... you'll just end up with a mess. Instead, try allowing the twine to fall naturally onto your layout and tack it down in a few spots from there. I used mine to "hang" my photo banner from at the top, then I allowed the twine to twist and loop however it wanted to. I used a combination of my handy dandy Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher and tacky glue.
Finally, you can see I added some ink splatters and a few of the Fancy Pants buttons right onto the layout. I adhered the buttons with my 3L Scrapbook Adhesive glue dots and used my Tiny Attacher to help keep my bakers twine in place at the end and under the Snap card. I also thought it would be fun to use the bakers twine as a journaling line for a short explanation of my photos. To keep the middle of that twine length in place, I added a small amount of Aleene's Tacky Glue onto the twine and held it onto the paper. Worked like charm and you can't see a thing because the tacky glue dries clear :)
Thank you for joining me today! Now that you've seen a freaky fast layout done with our Show and Tell kit I hope you'll take some time and create something today.. or this weekend.
