Do you love die cuts? There are many ways you can use or access die cuts. In my layout today I'll highlight some of the die cuts we have that go with the July 2014 Kit! So lets get started!
Die cuts are not limited to cutting shapes / phrases / words, etc with a die cut machine (manual or electric). Die cuts are also found in coordinating products, like the Crate Paper Open road ephemera included in the July kit! On this layout I used not one but TWO ephemera shapes (the camera and Relax rectangle).
Some of the die cuts I highlighted on my layout include: the exclusive digital die cuts (which will be available in the Clique Kits shop soon), Element Stickers, Ephemera and the awesome add on Echo Park Viewfinder and Ampersand manual die cut! I love this viewfinder die cut, it is reasonably priced for a steel diecut and it's a great element to add to my layouts!
Don't you LOVE this word mash up die cut? How about that film strip? These are now available in our shop!
Now here is the full layout! I also put a less important image at the edge of the film strip and actually cut it off, I wanted the images to look as they continue off the page.
What are your favorite type of die cuts? Ones you can cut on your own on your choice of paper or those that coordinate with paper lines? Or are you like me and just in love with all sorts of die cuts!?! The July Kit die cuts are NOW available in the Digital Store! Scoop them up if you are not a subscriber!
Thanks for joining me today! Have a scrap happy day!
I've been going to school for the past few years, getting a second degree. So I still LOVE summer break! One thing I love to do on summer break is scrapbook and a LOT! During the school year my time is limited in the hands to paper memory making department, but now that I can LET LOOSE, I'm able to really be in my studio space!
On that note, I started playing around with the June Kit - Show & Tell! I love this kit and all the bright colors, the bold patterns and the softer patterns. It is a great mix! For my first layout I created with the June kit, I created a Flipagram, so you could see my process in how I created this layout!
The best thing about having a wedding less then a year ago, I still have lots of photos to scrapbook with! I have barely made a dent in my wedding photos and I haven't began the process of putting together my album yet (in time). I love how each kit brings me something new and inspiring to scrapbook my wedding photos. This photo was taking by the talented Bernadette Pollard (Minneapolis Wedding Journalist).
Thanks for stopping by today!

Today I want to share a few cards I created with the May kit - Field Trip. I have two short tutorials as well showing how I put two of the cards together. There will be lots of pictures so lets get started!
Shaker cards have been around for quite some time now. I just want to show you how I made this particular shaker card.
The next step-by-step is shorter. I just want to show you the elements I picked for a journal card to make it my own. As you see below, I set out some embellishments that I considered using on the card and they played around with where I wanted to place these elements. Working with different shapes and sizes.
I loved how many journal cards came with the May kit! So of course I found ways to use them. I used them creating journal cards as well as cards.
I also love to make cards with scraps of the kit. The card below I used a Studio Calico Acetate Sheet to help enhance the pieces of this kit I found laying around. I paired it with a bubble word (which will be available in the Clique Kits store soon!)
There you have it! There are so many uses for the bits and pieces of your kits as well and uses for journal cards to really make them your own and fit your projects and personality!
Before you go! Here is a quick view into our June kit - Show & Tell! June subscriptions still available. The kit will go into our shop tomorrow to be purchased as a single kit.
One thing I love about the May kit, Field Trip, is the journal cards that coordinate. I loved using them as elements on my layouts and incorporating them into the background, but as well as using them as titles. In this layout, I used two journal cards, one 4x6 and one 3x4. I complimented the cards with pattern paper background, chevron strip and I ADORE the gold paper that was in the kit. I used an embossing folder to get the results of the camera. This paper is amazing to emboss. I also used some of the digital printables to add more layers to my layout.
Thanks for stopping by today! We have lots of fun events happening in the next few weeks, including the May Kit blog share tomorrow, May 21st (start here on the Clique Kits blog), sneak peeks and full kit reveal of our June kit - Show & Tell, we opened up subscriptions for June, there are still a few left so sign-up today before you miss out, and finally we are holding a summer class - Clique Into Summer! We have one kit left and lots of great activities and lessons planned for the summer!
Thanks for joining me today! Happy Scrapping!
I adore the May kit! and love this add on stamp set from Lawn Fawn we are offering this month! Using the cut file for May, I cut the file folder our to create my 4x6 card. I was then inspired by the stamp set and couldn't wait to use the Map. I stamped the map onto my card base and added some of the papers and embellishments on the bottom portion of the card.
Here you can see that I wrapped the twine around a tab printable, which I cut in half.
Thank for joining me tonight! Stay tune for more inspiration this week by the rest of the Clique Kit gals!
I'm back for another Yearbook Tuesday post! Today I want to share a layout I created using the Debutante kit. At this point in my creating, I was running low on April Debutante product. Of course, I didn't want any piece to go to waste so I created this layout with scraps from the kit that I had left over. And while doing that, I used a collage of photos of my husband and I throughout the years.
I love how this layout developed and how I was able to use scrappaper, journal cards, die cuts and various elements included in the kit. I enjoyed looking through my photos, finding some new and old that would work together to create a layout that I "cherish".
How do you use your scraps? Do you make cards, use them on layouts or give them away! Share with us on how you use them!
Thanks for joining me today! Can you believe it is almost May! That means more inspiration and a new fabulous kit! Have a scrap happy day!
I'm back again with another series of journal card sketches and samples using the April 2014 Debutante Kit! I really enjoy making one-of-a-kind journal cards for my albums. They are personalized for me, my style and my projects!
These four journal cards really give you endless possibilities to create dynamic journal cards for your pocket page albums, layouts or even use them to inspire your next card creation! Here is how I took these sketches to the scrapbook desk!
Here are all four cards together! These cards add a lot of personality to my page protector album!
Punch with a circle (or shape punch) sections of a pattern paper. Apply an epoxy sticker on top to add a personalize flair style image to your journal card, layout or cards!

I love buying and creating 3 x 4 journaling cards. I'm always looking for different ways to use them and incorporate them into my projects, beyond pocket protectors! I love the 3 x 4 cut apart cards included in the Clique Kits - Debutante Kit this month! They are so funky fun! I couldn't wait to cut them apart and create a layout centered around these fantastic cards!
As you can see I used the cards as elements on the layout! I layered papers, cards, Clique Kits die cuts (available now in store), and embellishments to create this fun layered layout! This is a great way to use your journal cards and small sections and scraps of paper. If you don't like side A of the journal card, there is always side B, which is typically an awesome pattern you always hate wasting.
How do you use your 3x4 journal cards? Do you scrapbook with them beyond a page protector?
I am obsessed with instagram. I love to take photos with my phone and share them in the online gallery. I love to look at other peoples photos and see what they are up to that day. One of my main subjects is my puppy baby, Spock.
Another thing I like about instagram is that I have square photos. I love using these photos sizes for my layouts and projects. They are already cropped how I want them and I just have to print them off (either at home or online, I use Shutterfly). I love to printing my photos in 4x4, 3x3 or 2x2. They make great featured images on a project!
Today, I'm sharing a layout using our April Kit - Debutante! This layout came together in less then 30 minutes, actually more like 20 minutes. I love when layouts come together like that! Of course, this is a layout of my sweet little guy! I used the strips at the bottom of the Amy Tangerine - Plus One papers to add texture and visual interest the to background of my layout. I ADORE this large strip paper as well. I focused on using black and white with the pops of aqua and te small pop of green in the paper strip.
Here is a close up of the paper strips, the awesome acrylic arrow from Freckled Fawn and those fantastic foam stickers from the kit! I also used the 3x4 die cut to create some interest as well!

Something that I want to bring to our friends every month is journal card sketches! To give you a way to use your products in your stash or even your Clique Kits. If you use these sketches please share on our Flickr page or Facebook page and tag Clique Kits!
Above are the 6 sketches I created to work with the April Kit - Debutante. These are created at 3" x 4", but feel free to adapt the size to fit your projects!
Above you will see the sketch with the finished journal card. These cards were all created with mostly the April kit. There are a few embellishments and white card stock that I added. I also used some water color paints and vellum on the far right card. I followed the sketches for the most part, but also tried to make it my own and give the each their own personality.
These journal cards are already in my "My Life" album ready for photos to compliment them! I hope you get some use out of these sketches as well and can use your personalized cards in your Yearly albums and scrapbook projects! Remember share with us on Facebook or in our Flickr Group!
